ere’s my review of February and March. It's been a big month of films in the lead up to Avengers Endgame. I’ve been to see Captain Marvel. My classic film is from 1983 and I’ve celebrated my 40th Birthday.
Film: Captain Marvel (originally known as Vell) is an extra-terrestrial, a wannabe Kree Warrior. I found the film funny in parts and full of action. She was having dreams about when she was a little girl on Earth which did not make sense until she crashes into a Blockbusters Video store in the 1990s. The rest of the film follows her and the agents of shield (mainly Nick Fury) as she pieces her fractured memory back together which leads to a confrontation with the evil Skrull’s, and then a plot twist which takes us to the final showdown. We even get to find out what happened to Fury’s eye and the reason why he wears an eye patch in the present. The film was a fitting tribute to the Marvel comic creator, Stan Lee who has sadly passed away. Fortunately, he still filmed his cameo, reading a book on the train as she walked past and smiled.
My classic movie this time is Krull, from 1983. I remember watching this when I was little. I had the comic books and the action figures. I think it's like Star Wars meeting Excalibur. Colwin is on a mission to save the princess. Colwin faces a series of tasks on his mission. I like the story. It had a lot of meaning to me.
TV: I’ve been watching the new version of The Crystal Maze on E4 and comparing it with the old series on Challenge. I prefer the original with Richard O’Brien. I prefer the tasks and the simplicity of it.
Life: I’ve been cleaning my flat ready for spring. I also celebrated my 40th Birthday! I had Jump Force for PS4. It’s a great fighting game where you can even create your own character. I also had a Hulk mug and loads of lovely birthday cards. I also had a lovely meal with family and friends at the 'Man of Gwent'.
