usician, Laura Power is our guest on The Mid Week Mix Up this Wednesday at 5pm. We thought we'd find out what she's really like by asking her few fun questions. Here's what she told us.
Q.What was the first record you owned?
A. Probably Greenday's American Idiot. My sister and I shared everything but that's the first album I remember as my own.
Q. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
A. I've always wanted to be able to move things with my mind. Once I sat in front of a glass for about half an hour willing it to move. I was eight and I was convinced I had superpowers. I think I watched too much Matilda!
Q. What's the best way to spend a Friday night?
A. Get home, have a bath or shower, put my PJs on, order a takeaway and watch a movie.
Q. If you could be a cartoon character for a day. Who would you choose?
A. I'd love to be Spongebob Squarepants just to experience working in The Krusty Krab. It would be cool being a sponge and living in a pineapple under the sea!
Q. If you could choose anywhere for a holiday where would you go?
A. Australia. It's been top of my list from a very young age.
Q. What's at the end of a rainbow?
A. No gold last time I checked!
Q. What's the best birthday or Christmas present you ever had?
A. My baby brother who was born on Boxing Day will always be the best Christmas present I ever had.
Q. What's the best advice your parents gave you?
A. Always try your best and never give up chasing your dreams
Q. What's your karaoke song?
A. Shania Twain's Man I Feel Like A Woman
Q. Your favourite TV show is?
A. I honestly don't watch a lot of TV but I'll say Stranger Things as it's the only thing I've watched in a long time. It's absolutely awesome!
Q. How many languages can you say hello in?
A. Other than English, I can say hello in Welsh, Spanish and French.
Q. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
A. Winchester. It's a horror film based on the story of The Winchester House. I honestly never jumped so much. It's a great film.
Q. Do you have a favourite item of clothing?
A. Yes. I have a pair of black jeans that I ripped myself which I've worn to nearly all my gigs and to concerts as well. The rips in the knees are so big but I won't part with them as they're the comfiest jeans I own even if they are faded and worn.
Q. What was the last book you read?
A. I'm pretty sure the last book I read was It Gets Worse by Shane Dawson. It a really funny book. I need to start reading more really.
Q. What's the weirdest thing you have in your bag?
A. Probably a packet of Everton mints. Call me old fashioned but they're the best thing ever. Everything else in my bag is everyday stuff like college books.
Q. Who has been your best teacher at school or college?
A. The best teacher I had at college and still have now is Scott. He got me through so much and helped me to achieve things I never thought I could. He's taught me so many things about being a musician and I can't thank him enough for everything he's done for me.
Q. The best ice cream flavour is?
A. Raspberry ripple
Q. The best pizza topping?
A. Mozzarella and French fries. You're probably thinking - what? But I had it at an Italian restaurant once. I didn't really believe it when the waitress said it's traditional but it's still the best pizza I've had to date!
Q. If I came to your house for dinner, what would you cook for me?
A. Probably chicken nuggets and chips. It's the only thing I know how to cook! haha
Q. What would you tell your 13-year-old self?
A. Despite all the hell you will go through, you will come out a better person and despite how much it all hurts, it will make you stronger. Push through the bad times because there are so many good times to come.
