A study conducted by Compare the Market based off Google searches found that Newport came 9th in the top 10 most desirable places to live in the UK. The study looked at searches that used terms related to living in and moving to places and found that around 16,000 people a month were using these terms in relation to Newport, meaning all these people want to live or move here, how cool is that! Don’t we all feel proud to live here now?
London of course came first, with it being the capital -with 36,000 searches. With Darby coming in second. Still, Newport was the only city in Wales on the list- go Newport! I hope we are all feeling a little more appreciative now to live here. You could even say it’s the best city in Wales- now you have evidence!
What are your favorite things about Newport?
Coffee at 26 on Bridge Street has just celebrated its first year of being open! Have you been there? Doubling as a wine bar and a coffee shop, the place has been overflowing with tourists and locals soaking up the atmosphere. I mean…wine AND coffee?? What’s not to love.
The venue is now hosting live music every single weekend to try and help Newport’s live music scene. As well as this, the cafe is dog and family friendly and offers a range of food and drink options. It sounds like an evening you wouldn’t want to miss! Even their reviews are fantastic.
With the music changing every weekend, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. So- whether you’re just popping in for a chilled one or heading out for the night- go check it out!
Eleven-year-old hero Theo was bitten by an XL bully whilst saving his younger siblings from an attack. Him and his family we’re leaving St Michael’s church last Sunday when his younger brother spotted the dog. They then waited until it was out of the way and started to leave when the dog ran towards them in an aggressive manner. Theo then ran into the car park in an attempt to lead the dog away from his family, resulting in him getting bitten on the thigh. He was then sent to hospital where he was treated.
Despite his injuries, he remained brave and said he was just looking forward to getting back on the field and playing his favorite games- rugby and football. The young hero is recovering well, and his family and peers are immensely proud of him. What a brave young boy!
