One of the bay’s most striking features is Worm’s Head, a serpentine rocky promontory that becomes an island at high tide. Accessible during low tide, it provides a unique opportunity for exploration and breathtaking views of the Atlantic.

The island’s Whitmore Bay is its centerpiece, offering a broad sandy beach ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and sandcastle building. The Promenade along the bay is lined with cafes, ice cream parlors, and shops, providing a traditional British seaside experience. Nearby, the Barry Island Pleasure Park offers classic amusement rides and attractions, making it a hit with families and thrill-seekers alike.
From 1966 until 1996, Barry Island was the site of a Butlins Holiday Camp.
Barry Island is also renowned for its connection to popular culture, notably as a filming location for the TV show “Gavin & Stacey,” which has enhanced its nostalgic charm and drawn fans from across the UK.

From May-September, dogs are not allowed on the main beach at Barry, however just around the cliffs, at Jackson’s Bay, before the lighthouse, there is a large expanse of sandy beach that is dog friendly

there is a section of the beach to the left of the pier that dogs are welcome on all year round.

Oxwich Bay, located on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales, is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and diverse habitats. Oxwich Bay is A great beach day for all the family including the dog. Large car park and easy beach access with a ramp for launching boats. There is a huge expanse of the beach so you can move away from crowded areas
