The Memo

Newbridge Memorial Hall and Institute (The ‘Memo’): Established in 1908, this historic building served as a hub for miners, offering a library, reading rooms, and recreational facilities. In 1924, a memorial hall was added to honor local men who lost their lives in the World Wars. The Memo also housed an art deco cinema and theatre, becoming a focal point for community events and performances.
