Boyd Clack: Bridging Comedy, Culture, and Campaigning

Boyd Daniel Clack, born on March 7, 1951, in Vancouver, Canada, is a Welsh actor, writer, and musician. He moved to Tonyrefail, Wales, during his childhood, where he was raised.

Clack is best known for his work on the television series “Satellite City” (1996–1999) and “High Hopes” (2002–2008, 2015), both of which he co-wrote and starred in.

His film credits include roles in “Twin Town” (1997), “Risen” (2010), and “Eternal Beauty” (2019). Beyond acting, Clack has authored two autobiographical books: “Kisses Sweeter Than Wine” and “Head in the Clouds: Memories and Reflections.” He has also released two music albums, “Welsh Bitter” and “Labourer of Love.”

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Clack is an advocate for Welsh independence. He participated in a pro-independence rally in Merthyr Tydfil in September 2019 and stood as the Plaid Cymru candidate for Cardiff West in the 2019 general election.
