Later, Jon is talking with Sansa and she plans on taking back Winterfell. I like that Sansa has been through so much, and is finally growing a backbone or at least showing it. She seems like she always had the strength of a leader but could never display it because she was suppressed by Catelyn.
Brienne might also have a love interest with Tormund, I was not blind to see his liking for her. Jon receives a letter from Ramsay, which degrades Jon in every sentence by calling him a ‘bastard’, being somewhat hypocritical coming from Ramsay, who is also a bastard. Jon is to return his wife, Sansa, or he will march his army down to castle back and make him watch the entire army rape his sister and make him watch his dogs eat Rickon. Sansa informs Jon that he has an army of about 5,000 but that was before the battle with Stannis, in which though he did kill every opposable opponent. There are only 2,000 wildings and maybe around 100 Brothers of The Nights Watch. Not good odds…
Unbeknownst to them, Petyr Baelish in the Vale has persuaded his step-son, Robin Arryn, to march for Winterfell to save his cousins. So the Vale coupled with the army of wildings will no doubt be greater or equal. (Yaas!) But I don’t want Ramsay to die just yet this season.
Sister Unella has retrieved Queen Margaery from her cell, finally! She takes her to see The High Sparrow who dictates to her about his boring-ass old life when he used to be with his father before he died and took over the business (I hate him so much, I can’t wait for his trial by combat).
Margaery is taken to see Loras. He lays still, scared to move in case is wasn’t her. She runs over and gives him a hug and we can see how traumatised he is and tired of being in prison. He is willing to confess and give in to the faith militant but this could mean death. I don’t care about Loras anymore though, they’ve left his character far too long.
Grand Maester Pycell I think is trying to persuade King Tommen that The High Sparrow is deluded and shouldn’t be trusted, nobody voted for him to have this sort of power in the kingdom. Tommen doesn’t know what to do or how to get Margaery out of the cells, not to mention he’s not willing to get rid of the High Sparrow after taking a fondness to him during their chat in the cells.
The small council, Olanna, The Hand of the King, Cersei and Jaime are talking about starting a civil war with the faith militant, to stop Queen Margaery from also doing a Walk of Atonement.
The Salt Throne
Next we are taken to The Iron Islands (yay!). We see Theon arrive on a boat and miraculously with the power of editing, we are taken inside the castle with Theon’s sister, Yara. She is not pleased to see him because the last time they were together, Reek/Theon, didn’t leave The Dreadfort with her and she lost many of her soldiers and that also made her look weak in the eyes of her father and Kingsmoot. Theon arrives just as their father dies so naturally Yara thinks that he only came back to take the Salt Throne, but he says that he only came back to support his sister, which I agree with! She deserves it way more than him.
Ramsay calls for Osha to be sent to him to ask her about her involvement in house Stark. She claims to be a servant girl, working for them until she stole Rickon and kept him as prisoner to sell for a nice price. She explicitly flirts with him as she reaches down his trousers whilst reaching for a knife on the table. She lunges toward the knife and before you could blink, Ramsay confesses that he knows about her and Rickon from Theon and stabs her in the throat and leaves her to bleed out onto the floor. I was so shocked oh my god, I started to really like her.
Daario and Jorah are still in search of Daenerys.Lluckily, Jorah knew that the Dothraki would take her to Dosh Khaleen. Daario spots the greyscale as he passes his weapons over to hide them because it’s against the law to carry weapons in that city. They wait for dark to infiltrate the city, and pass by as traders selling wine. They are stopped by two civilians but are unsuccessful in persuading them and one leaves to get more help. Daario quickly chases after him and stabs the other.
Daenerys is sitting, talking to the other women in Vaes Dothrak when she goes to get some water. She is found by Jorah and Daario who came to rescue her, but she has other plans than to leave Dosh Khaleen. Khal Morro’s guards have found the two bodies and asks to bring in Dany for some reason. The Khal’s have all been discussing what to do with Daenerys as the Masters of Yunkai want her for 10,000 horses.
They insult her to her face. She retaliates, she calls them weak and not fearful as the only places they raid are small towns and villages. I like it when she challenges people, she always wins. She grabs hold of a large torch sconce and pushes it in front of the Khals burning the building down and them along with it. Daenerys, the unburnt, is revived. The Dothraki now see her as a god and kneel before her. Daenerys is back bitches.
