Get ready to make memories, Newport! The city’s first-ever Winter Wonderland is coming to town

It promises to deliver all the festive cheer you’ve been craving this season.

From November 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025, the site of the old Newport Centre will transform into a magical holiday haven. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker, a foodie, or someone looking for the perfect Instagram-worthy moment, this is the event you won’t want to miss!

Skate, Slide, and Sparkle

At the heart of Newport Winter Wonderland is its real ice rink —fully covered so the fun continues rain or shine. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or just there to enjoy the winter vibes, the rink will have you gliding into the holiday spirit.

🎡 **Fairground rides** and a Ferris wheel are also on hand to add a dash of excitement, while cozy fire pits invite you to roast marshmallows and warm up between activities.

Get your foody feast on

Bring your appetite because the Winter Wonderland is packed with culinary delights. From savoury classics to indulgent sweets, here’s what’s on the menu:

🍔 German sausages, burgers, and loaded fries
🍩 Waffles, crepes, and doughnuts

Winter Wonderland is just one of the many highlights in this year’s Festive Newport calendar. From Christmas markets to spectacular shows, here’s what else to expect:

🛍️ Free Saturday parking in council-owned city centre car parks from November 16 to December 31.
🎅 Santa’s Workshop, festive food stalls, and Christmas market stalls at Friars Walk, High Street, and the Kingsway Centre.
🎭 Holiday shows like Dick Whittington at The Riverfront and events at Newport Market, including performances by the City of Newport Male Choir.
