Hire a Guide at RSPB Newport Wetlands

Hire A Guide for a unique and exclusive tour of Newport Wetlands, tailored to your interests!

Our bespoke service offers up to 5 guests the opportunity to explore the nature reserve with a knowledgeable guide for 1 and 1/2 hours. We can tailor the tour to your interests, so you can experience the reserve at your pace. Perfect for families, small groups, wheelchair users/people with limited mobility (you can hire a mobility scooter too) and anyone wanting an insight into the unique wildlife and history of Newport Wetlands.

We can provide walks on the following themes, but if you have an idea, please ask:

General nature walks, for all ages and interests, providing insights into species, habitats and conservation management.

Birding walks, ranging from beginners to advanced.

Historical walks including a look at finds from the mudflats from the medieval villages on the Gwent Levels.

Photography walks.

Any specific interest in Butterflies, Dragonflies, Bumblebees and flora during the summer months. Wading birds and starlings in the Winter.

Hire A Guide tickets are valid for 1 year from the purchase date and the walk must be completed within that time period. To book your Hire A Guide experience, please email Newport-Wetlands@rspb.org.uk at least 2 weeks in advance of your requested visit date.
