With the next season of Doctor Who on the horizon, anticipation is building among fans. While the last season introduced us to Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor and brought back some familiar faces, there’s still so much we want to see in the new season. From revisiting intriguing plotlines to balancing old and new storytelling elements, here’s what some of our volunteers are hoping for:

Jack Cartwright

One plotline I’d love to see revisited is the Master’s gold tooth. Who picked it up? What could it lead to? I think it would be a fantastic way to bring back the Master while adding subliminal messages throughout the season, leading to a big reveal.

As for Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor, I really enjoyed his performance in season one, especially given how limited his filming schedule was. But moving forward, I’d love to see a more serious side to his character, maybe around the midpoint of the season. That kind of depth would add so much more to his Doctor’s journey.

Amber Couldrey-May

I really hope the new season leans back into its sci-fi roots. The previous series didn’t showcase as many alien planets or spaceships, which are a big part of Doctor Who’s identity. While I enjoyed the return of classic villains and references, I’d love for the show to bring in fresh, unique concepts instead of revisiting old ideas too often.

Jack Cartwright (Again!)

I agree—there needs to be a balance between returning concepts and original ideas. We already know we’re getting more information about Mrs. Flood, which should be interesting!

Daniel Price

I have so many questions that I hope get answered this season. Who is “the Boss” from The Star Beast? Could it be a callback to the alien intelligence from The Green Death? And what about that mysterious hand at the end of The Giggle? Was it the Rani, Mrs. Flood, or another hidden villain?

I also think it’s time for the Daleks to return—but they need to be written well! If the rumours about Gatwa leaving soon are true, I’d love for his Doctor to have an iconic showdown with his deadliest enemy before he goes.

Then there’s Mrs. Flood—who is she really? Could she be the Mistress of the Land of Fiction, a Guardian, the Trickster, Susan Foreman, or even the Rani? Her white-themed outfit has sparked speculation that she might even be the White Guardian. Whatever the case, I hope her identity brings an exciting twist to the season.
