udrey never did anything without first calculating to the nth degree. Although what Audrey had to gain from this was yet to be uncovered, and she wasn’t about to say so in present company. All that Audrey had imparted to Luc was that it looked like the local land owner had wanted to burn her cottage down for her being an outsider. Truth was her mother was very much a part of the local community here, an ardent huntswoman, if only to further her own connections, everything Audrey did was very well calculated.
The female police officer returned and once again asked if Luc required her to make a personal visit to make a statement? Then she recognised Audrey and the two spoke on familiar terms, Audrey covertly leading the officer away from what she assumed was her daughters rich boyfriend. The officer was pretty and therefore a possible threat, and yes Audrey had calculated that within moments and acted on it.
Apart from the police woman attempting to get Luc alone there appeared to be no real pursuance for statements to be made. Sid was still ranting about Luc not being human, and was completely ignoring the officers questions as to what he was doing at the property. It was clear as with every other crime he had committed he entirely assumed he was going to walk away from this due to his connections, Luc could hear it in his thoughts, Lucifer smiled, 'Oh no Sid, you're not walking away from this one'.
Luc stood, with the apparent aid of Dru, both were advised they should give statements, Luc smiled, oh yes he would be giving a statement, one which would ensure Sid Moore would spend a long, long, time behind bars. Not for taking a shot at Lucifer, but for believing he had some God given right to rape Dru, the man was stinking rotten to the core, and though Lucifer and he should get along quite well, he had overstepped his boundaries when he attacked Dru, for that Lucifer was livid.
“So will you drive me home?” Luc asked Dru cocking his head to one side like a puppy listening to something.
“Ah, the vibrating seat, and the sexy show, I think I'll pass” Dru said. Lucifer did a chicken impersonation complete with sounds effects. “You cant expect a man who has just taken a 12 gauge shot for you to drive himself home” Luc simpered.
“You're not a man, and you didn't really get shot.” Dru said logically.
“You do realise I'm never going to let you escape,” something in his tone suddenly set her on edge, he was deadly serious, “as I said, you are far too valuable to me...” Dru unlinked her arm from his and opened the car door, as a black Vauxhall turned up, the passenger got out and took the drivers seat of the Ferrari. Dru nodded, she understood, at which she made her way to her mothers car.
Lucifer sat in the car and looked skywards, “What the fuck was that? Compassion, caring, worry? What the fuck have you done to me?” He ground his teeth and shook his fist at the heavens.
Audrey drove for a while in silence, with an occasional side glance at her daughter. Dru deliberately didn’t take the hint. It would be nice of her mother to ask after her well-being, Dru also knew that if Audrey could see Dru were in one piece that's where the concern would end. “So?” eventually Audrey spoke. Dru looked at her blankly, waiting for her to continue, knowing in Audrey's head that one word should be enough to prompt Dru to spill her guts. Dru turned her head back to the look out of the passenger side window, 'hmmmm?' was all she managed. Audrey was exasperated, “Do I really have to spell it out? Luc?”
“Wow mother. Did you need a full sentence to say one word?” Dru retorted. Audrey let out an exasperated rasp so Dru filled her in, “he's the devil!”
Audrey let out another exasperated rasp. Dru advised her she was serious. “We need to call someone then!”
