ello and welcome back to another edition of my musical series, based on the music I’m listening to at the time, the music that moves me and the music I showcase on my radio show.
This week I’ve travelled back to the UK to have a look at a band from London. Music from all over the world is great, especially the UK.
Today’s band comes in the guise of a refreshing new Alternative Rock/Indie Rock outfit. All of the current members sing, play their primary instruments alongside playing synthesizers. This band is called Wolf Alice and I hope you enjoy.
The band – originally created as a duo – formed in 2010 and had self-released an EP of the same name, 'Wolf Alice', during the same year. By 2012, the duo had gained more members and their project became a band.
They released their first official EP, 'Blush', a year later with the new line-up. The 'Creature Songs' EP was then released seven months later.
Just over a year later – 13 months to be exact – they released their debut album, My Love is Cool (2015), but it wouldn’t be for another year or two that I would find the band.
This band, even though they have been together for seven years, only came to my attention this year. Their song ‘Silk’ was released on the soundtrack for T2: Trainspotting (2017), although the song was released on their debut album, My Love is Cool.
‘Silk’ was the song that got me into the band, but it was their sophomore album, Visions of a Life (2017), that cemented my fandom.
The following video is taken from their 2017 album. The song is called, ‘Don’t Delete the Kisses’.
