Victor Willis – Village Person!

Victor Willis, the traffic cop in the 70s disco group The Village People lived in Newport in the late 2000s. He moved to South Wales when he married his wife, Karen, a lawyer from Newport. Willis wrote songs for the Village People and other artists too. He appeared in many musicals and plays, including the original Broadway production of The Wiz in 1976.
