Joe Strummer of The Clash

Joe Strummer of the iconic punk rock band, The Clash lived in Newport for a few years. At the time he liked to be known as John Woody Mellor after his hero, Woody Guthrie, the American Folk musician. While in Newport he had a job as a gravedigger at St Woolos Cemetery.
