Newport Food Festival – High Street

Newport Food Festival will return to the city centre this year on Saturday
11 October 2025. The popular food market, chef demonstrations, workshops
and entertainment will take place as usual on the Saturday. Free to attend, no booking required.

10am: Teenchef Final, Newport Youth Academy
11am: Hywel Jones, Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa
12am: Matt Tebbutt, celebrity chef
1pm: Adam Whittle, Celtic Manor
2pm: Carl Cleghorn, TYME restaurant
3pm: Cyrus Todiwala, celebrity chef

Activities, workshops and entertainment

A food festival isn’t complete without activities, workshops and entertainment. There will be plenty going on throughout the day for all the whole family.

Mercure Hotel
9am : Drop in Community Coffee Day
Hosted by Newport council’s Age Friendly Communities team with free talks and activities taking place including:

A talk on Food Through the Ages, Presented by Past Port Tours.
Food Nostalgia Experience – Exploring how memory, identity and emotion are tied to food.
Global recipe swap – Share recipes from your culture and discover new ones.
There will also be free tea, coffee and cake provided.

Cook Stars
Free cookery workshops for ages 2 – 17 years.

Newport Market
10am – 4pm: Free arts and crafts from Newport City Council’s youth and play service.

The Place
11am – 4pm: Cook Along Clwb (free).
11am – 4pm: Workshops including Foodie Clay Play , Pasta Jewellery and Cookie Decorating (free).

The Riverfront

11am – 4pm: Craft sessions (free)

Fringe events
9:30am – 5pm: Exhibition ‘The Art of Food’, Gallery 57 (Upper Dock Street) (free).

10am – 5pm: Craft market, Kingsway Centre.

10am – 4pm: Live & Local pop-up market with stalls and live music, Market Arcade.

10am – 4pm: Independent market and live music, Newport Arcade.
